From the historic village of Cargèse

The charming village of Cargèse, located just 1 hour from Ajaccio, is perched on a hillside with the sea at its feet and surrounded by wild coasts, making it an ideal anchor point between sea and mountains. Cargèse is a village with a rich historical heritage. Built by a Greek colony fleeing Turkish occupation in the 17th century, it stands as a witness to a beautiful Corsican-Greek cultural blend.

It is highly recommended to explore the village without moderation. You will discover places steeped in history, such as the two churches facing each other (one Greek Orthodox and one Latin Catholic). You will also have access to three Genoese towers (Puntigliò, Omigna, and Orchinu, known as « e tre torre » or « the three towers »). There are many beaches to visit within the commune (Pero Beach, Chiuni Beach, Menasina Beach, and several small beaches waiting to be discovered if you venture a little further). The village of Cargèse has wonderful surprises in store for you. Simply strolling through its streets will allow you to enjoy its unique charm.

Discovering the Gulf of Porto

Located on the western coast of Corsica, it is a marine and terrestrial area full of natural treasures, which is why it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It includes, among other highlights: the Scandola Nature Reserve, a natural gem with distinctive volcanic rocks; the small hamlet of Girolata, nestled between the sea and the maquis; and the spectacular Calanques de Piana with its marine caves.
